The theme “Stolen Music” stems from a practice familiar to every brass player: to expand our repertoire into more interesting territories, we perform music originally written for other instruments and different ensembles. This includes works by the greatest and most esteemed composers who, unfortunately, wrote very little for brass.
In tonight’s program, not a single piece was originally composed for a trombone quartet. Nevertheless, we aim to showcase the incredible versatility of this ensemble—its virtuosity, power, tenderness, mystery, passion, and the entire spectrum of human emotion. Most of these arrangements were written by the ensemble members themselves and are performed exclusively by Sharav Ensemble.
