“Sponsored Sound”: From the Cathedral to Eurovision
Who pays for music? Sponsored Sound is a performance for piano trio that explores the evolution of musical language through its sources of funding over the centuries. From Bach’s church, through the noble courts of Mozart and the romantic freedom of Dvořák, the journey continues to contemporary creation — including Israeli music supported by cultural foundations and festivals, represented here through the work of Wolpe — and concludes with Hebrew song, offering a modern perspective in which the audience itself becomes the patron.
The program weaves together musical performance and cultural context, creating a fascinating and moving journey from the cathedral all the way to Eurovision.
