Ensemble Mezzo invites the audience to a dramatic, colorful, and enchanting celebration, featuring the finest arias from Baroque operas that unfold worlds of seduction, passion, and impossible loves. This is a world where pure and sublime love must contend with dark desires and magical forces. The great composers of the era gave mythological characters rich musical interpretations, powerfully expressing their emotional turmoil—spanning the tragic and heartfelt to humor and the joy of life.
The program includes arias and duets by Monteverdi, Handel, Purcell, Vivaldi, Gluck, and Steffani—works written for celebrated soloists and the prominent stages of their time.
