Transitions and Seasons – Vivaldi and Piazzolla
Two great composers – Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla – turned their gaze to the seasons.
Through their works, we explore how the seasons are interwoven with nature and human experience, and how this finds strikingly different expression in each composer. While Vivaldi’s seasons burst with color and vitality, Piazzolla’s 20th-century interpretation is urban, wistful, and passionate, carrying us from the hot and stormy streets of Buenos Aires to its cold and melancholic nights.
