This program focuses on the English vocal tradition—from the Renaissance to the present day—blending courtly songs by Dowland, Morley, Gibbons, and Purcell with Irish folk songs and melodies by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The diverse works are interwoven in intimate and sensitive arrangements, expressing universal themes of longing, farewell, innocence, and hope. Five female voices from the ensemble “Alma” join soprano Yeela Avital and musicians from Ensemble Mezzo, together creating a rich tapestry of voices and period instruments—recorders, historical guitars, Baroque cello, and percussion.
