The Great Gehenna Choir was founded in 2015 by the “Mamuta” Art and Research Center with the musician Noam Enbar. The Choir is a collaborative collective of musicians, combining traditional & new performative rituals with original music .

Choir members come from varied backgrounds; some are classical singers, some composers, singer-creators, or interdisciplinary artists. The choir’s performative events are loosely constructed as open gatherings with songs on the boundary between the religious, the ritual, and the surrealistic. Each performance is site-specific: the choir has performed since 2015 in museums, theatres, outdoor markets, and in nature, and are always looking for unique and exciting new venues.

Among the festivals and venues, the choir has participated in: Israel Festival (2019), ‘Sacred Music’ Festival Jerusalem (2017, 2018, 2019), the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2017), the Jerusalem Jazz festival, Israel music showcase festival (2020) and more.
