A concert of original music composed especially for accordion, harp, and percussion. The hour-long performance features music written in recent years by composer and accordionist Nika Kushnir, as well as a new piece composed specifically for this concert titled “A Freylekhen Safek” (A Joyful Doubt). The ensemble’s repertoire is marked by a wide range of musical influences, including classical music, Balkan music, Arabic music, and Jewish music. This blend of styles is reflected in works like “Nigunica”, which fuses Arabic influences with klezmer, and “Shir Am Badui”, which merges classical music with Balkan traditions. The unique combination of instruments, along with the original repertoire, creates a one-of-a-kind experience for listeners. In addition, the concert includes explanations about each of the instruments played by the ensemble members, as well as stories about the music composition process and the various pieces performed.
