The Israel Camerata Jerusalem & Tremolo Ensemble

To open the 28th Festival, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem joins forces with Tremolo Ensemble, British tenor Peter Wood, and conductor Ido Shpitalnik, the festival’s musical director.

In 1993, German composer Hans Zender reimagined Franz Schubert’s monumental song cycle, Winterreise. Zender preserved the original text and vocal lines almost entirely, while enveloping them in a rich and expansive orchestration for an ensemble of 24 musicians.

Since its composition, this arrangement has garnered international acclaim and numerous performances worldwide. This performance marks its first appearance in Israel in nearly 20 years.
