During the first half of the 18th century, Baroque instrumental music reached new heights of complexity, virtuosity, and expressiveness. In concertos and sonatas, composers explored bold combinations of wind, string, and keyboard instruments, creating intricate musical textures built around a continuous dialogue — sometimes contrasting, sometimes collaborative.

At the heart of the program are masterpieces by two of the greatest composers of the late Baroque: Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, in a chamber arrangement for the soloists performing in this concert, and Georg Philipp Telemann’s Concerto in A minor for recorder, oboe, violin, and basso continuo.

Alongside these works, the ensemble will perform rarely heard gems by two of their contemporaries, Johann Friedrich Fasch and Gottfried Finger, who worked within the same cultural tradition.
